About the Role

As part of Centurion Water's long-term plans to expand our growing System Integration division, we have secured numerous projects with a number of utility clients to support the upgrade and expansion of critical infrastructure over the coming years.

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our Perth team. This role is critical to the design, integration and commissioning of simple, intuitive and reliable electrical and control systems for utility and industrial projects across Australia. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your technical capability, practical experience, and initiative will contribute to the delivery of safe, robust, compliant, and innovative engineering solutions.

Location: Malaga, WA with requirements to work out of our Bibra Lake office.

What you'll do

  • Deliver the design, development, and implementation of control systems for industrial and infrastructure projects
  • Configure, integrate, test, and commission PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, HMIs, and industrial communications networks
  • Prepare technical documentation including control cubicle designs, electrical schematic mark ups, I/O lists, functional control description (FCD), testing documentation, and O&M manuals
  • Support project delivery through collaboration with project managers, engineers, technicians, and clients across both our Malaga and Bibra Lake branches
  • Attend client sites, including regional or remote locations, when required

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial control systems design, programming, testing, and commissioning
  • Experience across multiple PLC & RTU, HMI and SCADA platforms shall be viewed upon favorably
  • Adaptability to read, understand and markup electrical drawings and to work to client standards
  • Experience in sectors such as water, wastewater, and related infrastructure
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, and problem-solving capability
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and project teams
  • Current Australian driver’s licence (minimum C class) and a current National Police Clearance
  • Willingness to travel to regional or remote sites as required
  • Full unrestricted Australian working rights are essential
  • Ideal applicant is an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
