The Lamella Clarifier, also known as Lamella Separator, Lamella Settler, or Inclined Plates Clarifier, is designed to separate settleable solids (particles)/sludge.
Sedimentation performance depends on the effective settling area, nothing to do with sedimentation depth. Lamella plates are installed inside the tank as a module. The effective sedimentation area of Lamella Clarifier is the accumulation of the projected area of the lamella plates not the occupied area.
Centurion Water & Wastewater Solutions can provide a complete Lamella Clarifier system, including a coagulation and flocculation unit. The CWWS-LC system is described as follows:
- Effluent water after flocculation will enter the clarifier through the clarifier feed water distribution chamber located within the tank, which then distributes water equally to each plate.
- The solids in the effluent water fall onto the plate surface, and then slide down to the sludge hopper in the tank bottom via gravity. The collected sludge is discharged by a sludge pump automatically controlled by a timer.
- The clarified water flows through the clean water collection channel (triangular weir or perforated type) at the top of the tank.
