CENTURION DELIVERS & OPERATES A 104 PERSON CAMP FOR FITZROY BRIDGE REBUILD
Following severe floods in Fitzroy Valley, BBB Remote Site Services, a Centurion company, supported the rebuild by delivering and operating a 104-person remote camp for bridge reconstruction crews. Beyond the job, the team made meaningful contributions to the local community through training, donations, support and shared celebrations.

When devastating floods swept through the Fitzroy Valley in Western Australia’s Kimberley region in 2023, the damage to key infrastructure, including the destruction of two major bridges, had a lasting impact on the community.
To help with the recovery, BBB Remote Site Services, a Centurion company, was engaged to support the rebuild by delivering and operating a 104-person remote workforce camp, known as ‘Bindarra’. The camp provided essential accommodation and amenities for the project team working on the bridge reconstruction.
But the project became more for the BBB team involved. What stood out and really stayed with the team was the opportunity to support the local community in practical, meaningful ways.
BBB supported the Fitzroy Bridge Alliance on an initiative that provided hands-on kitchen training for local residents, helping several participants gain nationally recognised qualifications. For those travelling in from neighbouring communities, our camp provided a place to stay.
As the project wrapped up, BBB helped host a community BBQ to celebrate the reopening of the bridge, catering for more than 200 people and supplying food and staff for the event. The team also supported local organisations by donating equipment to the school and aged care home, supported a food drive, and helped deliver essentials such as hygiene packs, gas bottles and ice cream for aged care residents.
This project was a reminder that our impact, no matter how big or small, can go well beyond the job we were hired to do.
We’re proud to have played a role and thank the people of Fitzroy and the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley for the warm welcome and support throughout the journey.
