DELIVERYING SUSTAINABLE, VALUE-DRIVEN WASTEWATER UPGRADES IN PNG

Centurion has delivered a sustainable wastewater upgrade outside Port Moresby by combining a new modular SBR system with the reuse of three existing 150 kL tanks to reduce cost, speed up delivery and minimise the project footprint. The result is a reliable, future-ready treatment system built to support fluctuating workforce numbers in a remote environment.

Centurion has completed a major wastewater treatment upgrade outside Port Moresby for an international LNG client, delivering a solution that balances practical engineering, sustainability and strong long-term value.

A key focus of the project was reusing existing infrastructure wherever possible. Our engineers were able to repurpose three 150 kL tanks from the original construction camp and integrate them into a new Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) system. This smart reuse reduced capital costs, sped up delivery and kept the overall project footprint down, all while meeting reliability and compliance requirements.

The upgrade included a new modular SBR system designed for a 500-person equivalent load, with capacity to expand by another 250 EP. Built for a remote environment and fluctuating workforce numbers, the system ties seamlessly into the existing HGCP process and positions the client for stable, long-term performance.

Blending new design with existing assets isn’t just efficient, it reflects how we work. It’s about delivering solutions that are practical, sustainable and aligned with what matters most to our clients.
