Project wins: safer water treatment for global iron ore miner
WestWater (a Centurion company) has secured two new projects delivering UV disinfection and electro-chlorination systems to improve water quality and safety for a global iron ore miner in the Pilbara.
WestWater (a Centurion company) has secured two new water treatment projects in the Pilbara that will improve water quality and onsite safety for a major global mining company.
As part of Centurion’s ongoing commitment to safe, compliant, and practical water treatment for remote operations, both projects highlight how WestWater’s proven expertise supports the mining industry’s focus on sustainability and safety.
Project 1: UV Disinfection Systems – Paraburdoo
Two separate water sources required reliable disinfection to reduce bacteria, viruses and protozoa. WestWater is designing and supplying two customised ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systems, engineered to meet the site’s conditions and strict standards.
UV treatment offers a chemical-free, safe and effective solution to protect water quality for the site’s workforce and operations.
Project 2: Containerised Electro-chlorination – Rosella Junction
Safe chemical dosing was a key challenge onsite. To address this, WestWater will deliver a fully containerised electro-chlorination facility that generates low-strength sodium hypochlorite using only salt, water and electricity.
This approach eliminates the need for hazardous chemical deliveries, improving onsite safety and simplifying day-to-day operations.
From UV disinfection to electro-chlorination, these projects demonstrate WestWater’s capability to deliver practical, compliant, and reliable water treatment solutions built for remote mining environments.
