Centurion Sponsors Energy Club WA April Industry Dinner

Centurion proudly sponsored the Energy Club WA April Industry Dinner, gaining key insights into carbon capture, storage (CCS), and digital innovation from Santos, Wood, and SLB. A great night of learning, networking, and marking our first sponsorship with the Club.

Centurion was proud to sponsor the Energy Club WA April Industry Dinner — our first time supporting this key event and a great opportunity to connect with others across the energy sector.

Our team – Brad Cowain and Kevin Griffiths represented Centurion on the night, taking in valuable insights from standout presenters leading the charge in carbon capture, storage (CCS), and digital innovation:

🔹 Santos Ltd –Real-world progress: Moomba CCS project
Richard Hinkley shared how Santos has already stored 340,000 tonnes of CO₂ in South Australia – the equivalent to taking 700,000 petrol cars off the road. With potential to scale to 20 million tonnes per year, this project is a game-changer for hard-to-abate sectors.

🔹 Wood –Transporting CO₂
Stephen Stokes highlighted pipelines as the main method for large-scale CO₂ transport, with shipping and road/rail emerging in pipeline-limited areas. Shared CO₂ hubs are key to reducing costs and connecting multiple emitters to a single storage site.

🔹 SLB Smarter use of energy through digital transformation
Najib Gharib discussed how AI, cloud tech, and real-time data analytics are helping the energy sector respond to the surge in AI-driven energy demand by streamlining operations, reducing engineering and design costs, and enabling smarter, more efficient energy use.

We look forward to continuing our support and building more connections within the energy community.
